Google has its faults. But the stock is much cheaper than Facebook's. I don't think that Groupon's (GRPN) entry into payments is that big of a concern for Google though. Probably not for the likes of eBay (EBAY) or Jack Dorsey's Square either. Speaking of Square, any bets on whether Facebook's IPO debacle may lead to Square not looking to go public anytime soon? Square is one of the few private tech startups left that could generate a decent amount of attention. Twitter, Gilt Groupe and Spotify make that list too. Maybe Pinterest.
Finally. it's time for Reader Comment of the Week. James Holt is the winner for his comment about poor Research in Motion (RIMM). He was responding to one of my usual sarcastic tweets about the company's ever-shrinking share price.
But those BlackBerry 10 phones are going to be so awesome ... whenever they hit the market, that is. Enjoy the long weekend, everybody!
